Gordon Logie

Geographer, data scientist, and remote sensing specialist

Headshot of Gordon Logie.

I’m a geospatial data scientist and remote sensing specialist based in Alberta, Canada. For over ten years I’ve combined remote sensing imagery and other geospatial data with machine learning to answer practical questions for clients and employers.

I’m most interested in combining datasets, spatial and non-spatial, using the strengths of each to get a better answer than any one could give alone.

I’ve worked across many different problem spaces, including agriculture, insurance, energy, disaster prevention, and environmental monitoring. Right now I’m focused on geospatial foundation models, and how their embeddings can be used to map crops, sea ice and other features.

Open to remote roles and consulting work through GL Spatial. More about consulting →
